U.S. DLC certification application process and U.S. product subsidies

1, to understand the DLC certification, we must first understand the Energy Star. Energy Star (Energy Star) is a U.S. government (U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Department of Energy (DOE)) led, and combined with the product manufacturing, retail industry to participate in the energy conservation program, mainly for consumer electronics. ENERGY STAR certification requires that all manufacturers must submit test results from a laboratory that is authorized by IAS audits and recognized and approved by the U.S. Department of Energy and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to be valid. Energy Star certification is not mandatory for lighting products entering the U.S. market, but the U.S. government strongly supports this certification and provides subsidies for manufacturers and households selling Energy Star certified products, and requires federal government agencies to select Energy Star certified products. Therefore, most of the lamps sold in China to the United States have Energy Star certification. The DLC is for products outside the ES specification.

DLC is a consortium of utility companies and regional energy efficiency agencies that are leaders in certifying the quality and performance of energy-efficient lighting. The DLC certified catalog is used by utility companies to promote high-performance solid-state lighting fixtures throughout the United States that are not yet ENERGY STAR qualified. "For non-ENERGY STAR lighting products, the DLC certified catalog is a practical guide to high-quality, energy-efficient lighting products.

3, on the current U.S. Energy Star can not do the product, but also can do DLC certification.

4, Bell South is the United States, the Canadian government and the power sector to implement subsidies for LED lighting DLC program (Designlights Consortium) testing agencies and application agencies.

DLC requires the following information to be submitted.

Product specification, DLC requires LED products to be tested and submitted IES LM-79 report, ISTMT field temperature test report, lamp beads LM-80 report; warranty statement (at least one report).

80 report; warranty statement (at least 5 years warranty), in addition to fill out the DLC corresponding forms.

DLC certification standards.

1, the current version V1.7 was updated on November 13, 2012, during the transition period on April 6, 2013.

2、Version 2.0 is available for adoption since the publication date of April 7, 2013.

3, the old V1.7 version of the product tested, will be January 1, 2014, estimated, when a new technical report must be provided to re-evaluate the changes in the standard.

4, this basically improves the lighting out efficiency to 70-85lm/w.

5, the focus of this lamp, panel lamp requirements to adapt to existing technology: luminous efficiency to 85lm / W, luminous flux reduced to 2000 or 3000lm, distance to height ratio range relaxed 1-2.0.

6, the high bay lamp and low bay lamp, the luminous flux is separated into 10,000lm and 5,000lm.

DLC main test items.

1、Minimum light output

2, regional lumen distribution

3、Color temperature, color rendering index

4、Luminous efficiency

5, lumen maintenance rate

6、Guaranteed service life

7、Power factor and current harmonics
